Week of November 8th

We are working on syllabication and beginning sounds this week. Remember that Thursday is Veteran's Day so there is no school. Students who have Thursday show and tell can bring their things on Friday.

Week of October 25th

Added a few new sites today. Slide and Smilebox will allow you to create free slide shows.
We are working on Halloween type activities this week. Today we created 2 books for you to read with your child. Pumpkins/Spiders is a position word book and Spider Count is a book showing numbers and how to spell number words. We added another element by having the children cut and paste the correct number of spiders to each page.

Please keep all of the books that we send home regularly. They make good bedtime stories and help the students learn to read.

Week of October 11th

We worked on ABC patterns this week. We also worked on shapes and colors. Please review these areas with your child. Any little books that come home should be put in an accessible place so that you and your child can read them regularly.

Reminder---We are going to the farm on Monday. Please be sure to dress your child warmly as we will be outside. Make sure your child is wearing sneakers or some sort of closed shoe.

Week of Sept. 27th

Another good week for all. Open House went very well. Thank You to all of the families that came to visit us. We hope that everyone enjoyed reading the ME posters. Please continue to help your child with letter and number identification.

Week of Sept. 20th

This week we continued to work on patterning, colors and added in shapes. We also read Dogs Colorful Day and completed a take home book to go along with it. Show and Tell worked out great this week. The children brought in many different shaped objects. We logged the items according to their shapes using tally marks thne counted by 1's and 5's to determine which shape had the most tally marks. We had a few guest readers this week. Many thanks to those who read to the students. Anyone interested in reading to the class can contact us to set up a time.

Week of Sept. 13th

We are working on letter identification and AB patterning. Show and Tell is starting this week. Help you child find something to bring in that is their favorite color.
